The OSU P-mag group is getting bigger!  We welcome Ben Freiberg, from Skidmore College, and Nick Lavoie, from North Carolina State University, who have made it just in time for Mo Walczak’s research cruise off the Oregon Margin next week.  Ben is already making measurements and will soon be investigating the particle size specific magnetic properties of North Atlantic sediments.  Nick will get started soon, measuring the magnetic properties of North Pacific sediments.

Also, congratulations to our undergraduate researchers, Ben Wheeler and Sam Albert, who have both been accepted to graduate school.  Ben will continue work in rock and paleo-magnetics at Northern Arizona University and Sam will pursue an Engineering degree at Oregon State.  Best of luck to both!
